  • Fire on multiple stories of Bronx apartment: FDNY

    KINGSBRIDGE, the Bronx — FDNY units fought a 1-alarm fire in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx on Thursday night, fire officials said. The blaze was on the second and third floors of a five story dwelling. FDNY officials received word of the blaze at 8:54 p.m. There were at least a dozen units fighting the fire.   • 10-year-old among 5 people shot in the Bronx: police

    MELROSE, the Bronx — Five people were shot, ranging in ages from 10 to 36 years old, in the Bronx Wednesday afternoon, according to police. Two of the victims of the shooting at 153rd Street and Courtlandt Avenue were children, Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted. “The NYPD is tracking down the perpetrator,” he said.     LONGWOOD, the Bronx — Three men were hospitalized after being shot in the Longwood section of the Bronx Wednesday night. Gunfire erupted during a dispute around 10:30 p.m., near the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Simpson Street, police said.     ELIZABETH, N.J. — The New Jersey city of Elizabeth’s council has voted unanimously to suspend its e-scooter program with Lime after the death of a 16-year-old rider. Residents and friends of Nelson Miranda-Gomez, were in attendance at the council meeting and the vote.
