3 men injured in 2nd Wednesday Bronx shooting; suspect in custody: police

LONGWOOD, the Bronx — Three men were hospitalized after being shot in the Longwood section of the Bronx Wednesday night.

Gunfire erupted during a dispute around 10:30 p.m., near the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Simpson Street, police said.

According to authorities, a 19-year-old man was shot in the stomach, a 22-year-old man was shot in the right leg and a 29-year-old man was shot in the shoulder.

The victims were transported to Lincoln Hospital, at least two of them with non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

Police said an individual was taken into custody for the shooting.

This was the second shooting in the Bronx on Wednesday after five people were wounded in the Melrose section of the borough earlier in the day.
