Activist and author Patti Davis had a challenging relationship with her parents, at times, but now she's making peace after the death of both her parents.

She takes aim at President Donald Trump after he implied that he was close with her father, former President Ronald Reagan and is criticizing the Republicans for not standing up to him.

Her tense relationship led Davis to write her new novel, "The Wrong Side of Night," exploring a less-than-perfect mother-daughter relationship. The story focuses on Tilly Austin and her strained relationship between her mother after the death of her father and brother during 9/11.
