UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan — Firefighters knocked down a fire at an Upper East Side mansion early Tuesday.

It began on the fifth floor of 7 E. 84th St. around 2:30 a.m. and spread to the other floors of the residence, FDNY said.

The lavish mansion was built in 1884, according to real estate agency Douglas Elliman. It was evacuated and there are no reported injuries, according to the FDNY.

The city’s office of emergency management advised nearby residents to close their windows, and for drivers to avoid the area due to smoke.
