NEW YORK (PIX11) – Familiar faces and a few fresh ones lit up the green carpet at the CW Upfronts in Midtown Thursday, where the network unveiled its upcoming fall prime time lineup.

Among the returning veterans, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and Supernatural.

“Just as long as we continue to re-invent ourselves, hopefully the fans will continue to show up and continue to watch,” Supernatural star Jensen Ackles said, as the hit sci-fi thriller enters its 10th season.

Meanwhile, fans may recognize Grant Gustin from ‘Glee’ but when he pops up on the CW in the Fall, don’t expect any singing.

Gustin will transform into The Flash, an endearingly geeky CSI investigator who gets struck by lightening and wakes up nine months later as the fastest man in the world.

Another show making its debut this fall – the heartwarming and daring comedy “Jane The Virgin” about a young woman saving herself for marriage. Despite her efforts, she accidentally gets artificially inseminated.

“I think a lot of people are going to relate and more so to the journey of something unexpected happening in your life,” star Gina Rodriguez told PIX11 News.

The CW will launch its fall season in October 2014, with premiere dates to be announced at a later time.
