NEW YORK (PIX11) – A parade of honor for one 6-year-old NYPD police dog named Bear, who was flanked by a dozen of his K9 peers.

The German shepherds and their handlers lined up today outside the Animal Medical Center on the Upper East Side.

A salute to Bear for aiding officer Vincent Tieniber in subduing and arresting of a suspect.

“He’s always looking to protect me and I’m always looking to protect him,” Tieniber said.

Bear’s veterinarian said the pooch suffered from broken and chipped teach and a scuffed up face, but is now doing well and will fully recover.
