It’s been a year and a half since Barbara Sheehan was acquitted for killing her husband, a retired NYPD sergeant.

She admits to firing 11 shots at him as she was fleeing the home they shared with their two children to escape the decades of violence she had suffered at his hands.

Now faced with five years in prison on weapon charges, Sheehan has decided to speak out.

    Barbara Sheehan was not in iminent danger the day that she gunned her husband down.
    He was shaving.
    she could have just walked out the door if she was so afraid.
    The prosecutor did a lousy job.
    The victims' brother wanted to testify at the trial to combat the negative image that the defense publicity machine was portraying him as but the prosecuter wouldn't let him.
    He didn't deserve to die like that.
