According to officials, as many as 10 cars were involved in the accident which has prompted a massive 2-mile delay that goes back past the interchange with I-78 and back south toward Elizabeth.

Two disabled dump trucks and a box truck were among the vehicles involved in the accident that unraveled just after 6:20 a.m, authorities said.

Despite being re-opened shortly before 8 a.m., delays continued along the highway well past 9 a.m.
