Don’t expect the east end of the Robert Moses State Park boardwalk to be fixed by beach season.

The state says because Hurricane Sandy did so much damage, it may never be repaired.

Officials say Sandy took away eight feet of beach and dunes, leaving the area barely protected.

The removal project and reconstruction of the rest of the boardwalk will cost more than a million dollars.
