Teen killed, several injured after out-of-control minivan jumps curb on busy Queens street

The scene of a deadly accident in Long Island City, Queens where a teen was mowed by an out-of-control minivan. 4 others were also injured.

A teenager was killed Monday while four others were injured after a minivan jumped the curb of a busy street in Queens.

According to authorities, the victim has been identified as 16-year0old Drudak Tensin.

The accident happened just after 10:45 a.m. on Thomas Ave. and 30th Street.

Tenzin was reportedly a student at Applied Communications High School.

Witnesses tell PIX11 News, the minivan jumped the curb after careening with two other vehicles along Thomas Ave. The identities of the drivers and the injured were not immediately released.

The burgundy van jumped the curb, slamming into 5 people including the dead teen, identified as 16-year-old Drudak Tenzin .

Tenzin was a student at Applied Communications High School. The Department of Education released the following statement:, “We are arranging for a crisis team to offer counseling to students and staff at the school.”

Witnesses say the minivan driver did everything they could to stop the vehicle but could not before hitting the pedestrians and then slamming into a tree.
