A teenage backpacker is alive and with his family after being lost in the Australian outback for three days.

Sam Derry-Woodhead is recovering in the hospital after having to go to extreme measure in the deadly summer heat. including drinking contact lens solution and his own urine.

The British teen lost 33 pounds and suffered extreme sunburn. but he is expected to be just fine.
