WASHINGTON (PIX11) – Usually when you’re invited to perform at an event linked to something prestigious like – I don’t know – the Presidential Inauguration, it’s probably a good idea not to diss the guest of honor.

It’s clear rapper Lupe Fiasco didn’t get the memo after he went on an anti-Obama rant during a performance at an inauguration weekend concert in Washington.

SEE THE VIDEO HERE.

Video of the incident surfaced on the web and shows Lupe doing what he does best — spitting some rhymes and dropping some freestyle, but suddenly he decides to take it political

“Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist,” he rapped. “Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn’t say (bleep). That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either.”

As the video shows, the verse quickly stunned the room – and organizers, prompting them to kill Lupe’s mic and eventually, the stage lights.

Lupe Fiasco (left) was escorted off the stage at an unofficial inauguration show this weekend after making disparaging remarks about President Barack Obama during his performance.

Moments later, a scuffle on stage unravels, appearing to show security attempting to escort Lupe off the stage. The rapper leaves without incident.

The event’s organizers released a statement debunking reports he was removed for his political views:

“Lupe Fiasco was not “kicked off stage” for an “anti-Obama rant,'” the statement from StartUp RockOn read. “We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech. This was not about his opinions.

“Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act.”

Some members in the audience even took to Twitter, vouching for the organizers’ claim saying that the rapper stuck to the same anti-Obama song for a grueling 30 minutes and refused to move on to the next track.

Lupe, who has criticized President Obama in the past — at one point, even calling him a “terrorist” — did not release a statement on the incident.

I think they're saying he deviated from the normal format to go out of his way to repeatedly say his Obama bashing lines. Which would be freestyle in the way that they mean.

Hey Lupe, stop actin so F'kn naive… like Obama is gonna change the way the world has worked for 1000's of years. Give the man a break. You're smart, articulate, more than capable, and your city Chi-town is at war and I dont see you making ur voice heard on that! Or giving away ur millions to help a cause. Go take a trip to Africa to figure out a way to get water to Africans like JAY-Z did. Maybe you'll come back a different person. Hypocrite.

The whole attitude that "___ is going to change the way the world has worked" is terrible. Wishing someone in the government would even want to put an end to the cycle of pointless poverty, violence, and war is not a high standard.

-I dont care if it was part of his song, if he doesn't like Obama then why did he even bother to say yes to the proposal? to try to have some attention? we'll not only did he get kicked off the stage but I bet you, he won't be as respected as he was before. All I have to say is, if he wants attention that bad, go somewhere else to get it.

This began in the Garden of Eden when Satan tempted Eve: “You shall be like God. Your pet can use it to sharpen her claws without destroying your furniture. It provides aerobic exercise and is a form of physical therapy.
