VA Tech football team to wear special helmet decals in honor of Newtown victims

helmetIf there’s one place that’s familiar with tragedy, it’s Virginia Tech.

That’s why, when their football team plays Rutgers on Friday in the Russell Athletics Bowl, they will be wearing a special helmet decal.

It’s a tribute to honor both the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting victims and the victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy in 2007.

It has the number 58 on it — the number killed in the two combined shooting—and the  word “prevail” written across it.
