GULF COAST (PIX11) — British Petroleum, also known as BP, will pay $7.8 billion to people affected by the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico.
A federal judge made the settlement final in a 125-page ruling.

One-Hundred-Thousand businesses and individuals hurt by the Deepwater Horizon Disaster will get a share of the cash.
This isn’t the end of the litigation. There will be a trial to identify the causes of the blowout to assign percentages of fault to the companies involved, including BP, Halliburton, and Trans-Ocean.
